TAKE BACK CONTROL
of Your Bladder—and Your Life—with Aquablation Therapy.
A breakthrough therapy for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is now offered at Baptist Medical Center East. Urinary symptoms from BPH can be frustrating and hard to talk about. But there’s a new solution. Aquablation Therapy is a minimally invasive, robotic procedure that uses a heat-free, high-pressure waterjet to precisely remove excess prostate tissue—with no cutting and no impact on sexual function. This advanced, personalized treatment helps reduce symptoms, restore bladder function, and improve quality of life.
Aquablation is helping men feel like themselves again—with fewer bathroom trips, more control, and better sleep. To find out if it’s right for you, please call 334-747-7070 or search for a surgeon for more information and see if you are a candidate for this procedure.

Recovery
As with most BPH procedures, you will wake up with a catheter following Aquablation Therapy, which allows you to urinate while your urethra heals. The procedure may involve an overnight stay in the hospital. Once you’re home, you may notice for several weeks a mild burning sensation and urinary urgency, a sudden and intense need to urinate that is difficult to hold off. This can be managed with mild pain medication. Patients can resume their normal activities once approved by their doctor.
The outcomes Men Deserve
of men preserved erectile function
of patients did not need another BPH intervention at 5 years post-Aquablation Therapy
of men with BPH did not have incontinence after Aquablation Therapy
In clinical studies, Aquablation Therapy demonstrated long-lasting symptom relief with low rates of irreversible complications.

Baptist Health has partnered with UAB to bring the highest level of Urological care to Central Alabama and the River Region.
Aquablation is a game changer for my patients—giving them the relief they need without the risk that typically comes with it. It’s advanced technology gives me the ability to see the entire prostate during the procedure, ensuring that only the necessary areas are removed. The prostate is not a one size fits all and neither is Aquablation. Providing my patients with a procedure that’s tailormade for them, is something I’ve hoped to do for many years and now that’s a reality right here in Montgomery.
